Michael Proctor

Michael L. “Mike” Proctor, 54, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on January 14, 1964 in Carrollton, KY, the son of Lewis Hayes Proctor and Mae Dell (Mahoney) Proctor.  He had owned Proctor’s Garage in Carrollton for many years, doing automotive repair work. He had worked in the construction industry in his younger days and then went on to work at Gene’s Garage in Carrollton prior to owning his own automotive repair shop.  He had served as a volunteer for the former Carroll County Rescue Squad for many years.

He enjoyed participating and being involved with Demolition Derby’s at local county fairs.  He had helped coach little league sports for several years.  Though he had many health problems in his life, he never let that slow him down and was always willing to lend a helping hand to people who needed his help.  He dearly loved being a “Grandpa”.

He is survived by his son, Sam (Cassie) Proctor of Carrollton, KY, his parents of Carrollton, KY, a step-son, Jarod Martin of Carrollton, KY, two sisters, Teresa Taulbee and Charlotte Horine of Carrollton, KY, along with ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his companion of many years, Cindy Lu Martin, who died on January 8, 2018, a step-son, Eric Scott Mahoney and one grandson, Trevan Martin.
