Ms. Adella Rachel Miles Edwards, age 84, of Vevay, IN entered this life November 12, 1938, in Lexington, KY.
She was the loving daughter of the late Luther L. and Mabel H. Miles. She graduated Carroll County High School, May 30, 1957. She was a majorette and did shorthand. On May 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to H. Roger Walls of Ghent, KY. They were blessed with three children, Dianne Birge of Hanover, IN, Jackie Moore of Vevay In and Mike Walls of New Orleans, LA. She was later united in marriage to Carl Edwards of Texas in 1984.
She was the owner of Main Grill in Vevay, IN 1974-1979. She had various jobs in Texas, Mississippi and Indiana.
She was of the Baptist faith and gave her heart to Jesus at age 6 and received her bible for learning the Ten Commandments at age 9.
She enjoyed sewing, making her daughter’s prom dresses and school clothes. She was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steel and Nickolas Sparks novels. She collected Fenton Glassware. She was a very organized person.
Adella passed away March 15, 2023, at 4:20 P.M.
Adella was the mom of daughters Dianne Birge and husband Jeff of Hanover, IN, Jackie Moore of Vevay, IN and son Mike Walls of New Orleans, LA, Mama of five grandchildren, Rachel Arrasmith and husband Chuck of Williamstown, KY, Melany Wilhoite and husband Jason of Owenton, KY, Kara Miller and husband Junior of Hanover, IN, Krystal Bayne and husband Jason of Hanover, IN and Mabel Walls of Tupelo, MS, GiGi of 12 great grandchildren, Michelle Moore, Sebastian Glacken, Elizabeth Glacken, Kadin Miller, Braylin Millert, Kaitlynn Wickersham, McKenzie Bayne, Maddie Bayne, Brooks McGee, Kristyn Burnett, Corbin Arrasmith and Cheyan Arrasmith, aunt of two nephews, Luke Miles of Atlanta, GA and Shane Miles of Atlanta, GA, a sister-in-law, Bev Miles of Atlanta, GA and her best friends since high school, Eloise Shank and Marilyn Graves.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther L Miles, May 15, 1968, and her mother, Mabel H. Miles, November 3, 1998, and her brother, Jerry Miles, July 18, 2004.
Memorial gifts may take the form of gifts to: St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or Boystown.
