Alfred L. "Buster" Carlton, 73, of Ghent, KY., died on Tuesday evening, April 3, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center in Louisville, KY.
He was born on September 23, 1933 in Ghent, KY., the son of the late Elmer Carlton, Sr., and Melvina (Furnish) Carlton. "Buster" as most people knew him was a retired Mechanic. He served his Country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Memberships include the Ghent Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton, KY.
He is survived by his wife; Leona (Jackson) Carlton of Ghent,Ky. to whom he married on February 15, 1954 married for 53 years, a daughter; Lynn Marie Carlton-Minch of Owenton, KY., a son; Michael Allen Carlton of Ghent, KY., two brothers; Elmer Carlton, Jr., of Ghent, KY., and Roland Carlton of Worthville, KY., two grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons; James Clifton Carlton and Brian Michael Carlton and one brother; Kenneth Ryan Carlton.
The Rev. Graham Reynolds conducted the funeral service on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial followed the service at the Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to the Ghent Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
