Alfred Hill

Alfred Louis "Alf" Hill, 82, of Carrollton, KY., died on Wednesday evening, September 29, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on August 31, 1928 in Carrollton, KY., the son of the late Edward Joseph and Anna (Halmess) Hill. Alf as many people knew him retired from Kentucky Utilities in 1990 as a Lineman. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.

He will be missed by his wife; Mary Alice (Bishop) Hill to whom he married on April 27, 1951, his daughters; Anne Carol Hill and Janet Blythe both of Carrollton, KY., sons; Doug and Greg Hill also of Carrollton., KY., four grandchildren; Chris, Ashley, Connor and Ryan Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Sister Mary Ann Hill, SND, Ruth Stevenson and one infant sister; Mary Josephine Hill, brothers; Leonard, John J., Clifford, Ralph and Bill Hill.

Mass of Christian Burial was on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Kavungal Davy officiating the service.

Burial was in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggest memorial gifts may be given to the St. John Catholic Church Roof Fund in care of the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. - Sunday - October 3, 2010 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Evening Prayers will be at 7:30 P.M. - Sunday evening at the fuenral home.

Mass of Christian Burial - 11:00 A.M. - Monday - October 4, 2010 at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.
