Alvin Taylor

Alvin Lloyd "Tut" Taylor, 95, of Milton, KY., died on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on January 16, 1916 in Carroll County, KY., the son of the late Verni Henry Taylor and Mary Alice (Jones) Taylor. He was a retired mechanic for Marvin Kleopher Ford Tractor in Madison, IN., and a farmer.

He served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Taylor was one of the founding members of the Westide Fire Department in Carroll County and he also had served as their chief.

He will be missed by his wife; Lela Bernice (Shoots) Taylor of Milton, KY.,two daughters, Sue Carol Payton of Valley Station, KY., and Sharon Denise Vinyard of Harrodsburg, KY., a son, Lloyd Gene Taylor of Sellersburg, IN., sisters, Lena May Edwards of Milton, KY., Alma Welch of Bedford, KY., Dorothy Williams of Morristown, TN., Lola Pearl Vories of Campbellsburg, KY., six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Florence Schaeffer and Mary Lee Thomas, three brothers, Clifford, J.W. and Roy Gene Taylor and one grandchild.

Funeral Services were on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Bruce officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. - Tuesday - March 8, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Funeral

11:00 A.M. - Wednesday - March 9, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Interment

I.O.O.F. Cemetery - Carrollton, KY.
