Apolonia Mijares Alforte "Polly" Spenneberg, 89, of Carrollton, KY., died on Monday Morning, June 14, 2010 at the Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw, KY.
She was born on February 19, 1921 in the Philippines, the daughter of the late Phillipe and Lourdes Mijares Alforte. She was a former cook at General Butler State Park and Resort and a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton. She enjoyed spending her spare time at the Carrollton Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two daughters; Salome Frances Spenneberg of Georgia and Marguerite Anita Webster of Glencoe, KY., five sons; John Phillip Spenneberg of Carrollton, KY., Thaddeus Marvin Spenneberg of Milwaukee, WI., Joseph Louis Spenneberg of Fairfax, VA., Anthony Bernard Spenneberg of Bay City, TX., and George Allen Spenneberg of Carrollton, KY., twenty six grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Louis Albert Spenneberg, five sisters and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial was on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the St. John Catholic Church. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
