Bettie Courtney

Bettie Hudgins Courtney, 94, of Worthville, KY., died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY.

She was born in Carroll County, KY., on March 3, 1915 to Tandy and Melvina Maxwell Hudgins, who have preceded her in death. She was a member of the Dean Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthville, KY for 75 years. She was retired from Parkview Market in Carrollton, KY.

Survivors include a daughter;Joyce I. Malcomb of Wheatley, KY and a grandson; Kevin Malcomb and wife Dina of Baton Rouge, LA., along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Courtney, two sisters; Mary Russell Arnold and Sharon Westrick and two brothers; Logan Hudgins and Ralph J. Hudgins.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Family Worship Center Church in Carrollton, KY. The Rev. Kevin Malcomb, Rev. Sue Mathley, Rev. Pat Butcher and Rev. Dennis Norton officiated the service. Burial was in the Dallasburg Masonic Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.

Pallbearers were Dave Roberts, Floyd Bevill, Todd Crawford, Dwight Arnold, J.R. Crawford, Bobby Lee Westrick, Larry Tomlinson and Lynn Hudgins.

Memorial gifts were given to the Dean Memorial United Methodist Church.

5:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2009 at Family Worship Center and 11:00 AM until Service Time on Saturday at Family Worship Center
