Betty Risk

Mrs. Betty Risk passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the King's Daughter's Hospital. She is survived her husband, Jerry A. Risk and she was his loving wife for 51 years. She is also survived by two sons: Allen C. Risk (Joyce)of Morehead, KY and David E. Risk (Michele) of Carrollton, KY, Granddaughter: Lydia Risk and Grandson: Austin Vaught. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Tabitha Risk. Other survivors include her brothers, James D. Tuttle (Shirley) of Versailles, Ky, Stephen L. Tuttle (Lisa) of Pittsburgh, PA and her sister, Brenda T. Barber (Joe) of Crestwood, KY and many loving nieces and nephews and friends.

She was born on July 10, 1940 in Irvine, Estill County, KY to the late Hubert and Bertie Tuttle and grew up in Versailles, KY.

After moving to Carrollton in 1974 she worked as a secretary at Carroll County High School for 19 years and as an employee of the First National Bank of Carrollton for 12 years.

She was a faithful member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church for 39 years, singing in the choir and serving as church treasurer. She and her close friend, Norma Cardwell, conducted a Sunday School Class at Carrollton Manor for many years.

She loved music and enjoyed singing at church, in community productions and other events.

Rev. Andrew Oakley officiated the funeral service on July 13, 2013 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Carrollton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
