Bobbie Gene Giles, 88, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday, February 24, 2023, at his home in Carrollton.
He was born on May 22, 1934, in Gest, KY, the son of the late George Calvin Giles and Jennie Frances Browning. After his high school he served his Country honorably in the United States Army as a Demolition Specialist. Bobbie attended Lain Drafting College and graduated in 1964 with a Civil Engineering Degree. He went to work as a Civil Engineer Bridge Inspector, traveling nationwide in construction and inspection of bridges and had also served as a Property Inspector with the Carroll County PVA office.
He was a former member of the Carrollton Wesleyan Church and Sunday School Superintendent. Bobbie was a former Carrollton Rotary Club member and served as a board member and was active with the Carroll County Extension Service, he had served many years as a coach for 4-H Shooting Sports.
He had owned and operated “Honey Tree Farms” in Carrollton, since its beginning in 2000, as an active Beekeeper.
Survivors include his wife; Constance Jean “Connie” Acree Giles of Carrollton, KY, a daughter; Stephanie Jill Giles (Joel) Damron of, Midway, KY, two sisters; Jennie Weaver and Nana (Bobby) Adams of Carrollton, KY, two brothers; Clifford Rae “Pat” (Louise) Giles of Carrollton, KY, and George Lawrence (Joann) Giles of Okeechobee, FL, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Lillabelle Wallin Willhoite.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Cradle of Critters Wildlife Rescue.
