Bruce Westrick

Bruce Wayne Westrick, 57, of Carrollton, KY, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on January 17, 1957 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, the son of Louis E. "Sonny" Westrick and Sue Helen (Patton) Westrick of Carrollton, KY. He was a Certified Electrical Inspector for Carroll and surrounding counties. He was a Certified Firearms Instructor- C.C.D.W., having taught concealed carry classes throughout the area. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton. He was an active member of the Carrollton Fire Department having joined that department on June 1, 1976 currently serving as the Secretary and Safety Officer. He was a dedicated volunteer supporting the WHAS Crusade for Children for many years. He was very active in the American Red Cross Blood Drives in the Carroll County area. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a former Scout Master for Troop #131 in Carrollton. He had been active in the Carroll County Parks and Recreation Youth Ball Leagues. In his spare time he enjoyed riding four wheelers and being outdoors, he was also an avid University of Kentucky fan.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Bruce Westrick of Carrollton, KY, his daughter, Bethany Dawn (Brad) Mulhall of Louisville, KY, his parents of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Michael (Katie) Westrick of Madison, IN, three sisters, Shari G. Brindley of Louisville, KY, Pamela K. (Brad) McNeal of Carrollton, KY, Lori L. Westrick of Louisville, KY, one grandchild, Bryleigh Jean Westrick of Carrollton, KY.

A Memorial Mass was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton with the Rev. Allan Frederick officiating the service. Visitation was on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the WHAS Crusade for Children or the St. John Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton.
