Callie L. McDowell

Callie L. McDowell, 60, of Carrollton, KY, died on Sunday, February 19, 2023, after a long hard-fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born on July 23, 1962, in La Grange, Oldham County, KY, the daughter of the late Russell McDowell and Dorthy Havley McDowell. Callie had formerly worked in various factories throughout the area over her lifetime and Hometown Pizza in Carrollton for several years until her health declined.

Survivors include a daughter; Kalisha Delray, and a sister; Flora Jean Richmond of Carrollton, KY.

Callie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister; Betty Jane McDowell and three brothers; George McDowell, Larry McDowell and Tony McDowell.

She had been physically disabled for many years with her health problems and decided many years ago that she would like to donate her body to medical research. Upon her death, she donated her body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine for further research to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

At this time no formal services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America in care of the funeral home.
