Cecil Dorten

Cecil Hodges Dorten, 91,formerly of Carrollton, KY., passed away on August 17, 2012 at Gallatin Healthcare in Warsaw, KY.
He was born on October 23, 1920 in Polsgrove, Franklin County, Kentucky, the son of the late Fred Dorten and Mamie Catherine Rodgers. He retired from Gulf and Chevron Distributor in Carrollton, KY.
He was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church. He was a former Mayor of Carrollton. In the past he served on the Carrollton City Council, served as Carrollton Utilities Commissioner, and he was President of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Carrollton Lodge #134 F&AM and the Kiwanis. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing baseball.
He will be missed by one son, Glenn Dorten, Louisville, KY, and by three daughters, Nancy Raisor, Jeffersonville, IN, Mary Pat Williamson, Victoria, TX, Judy Tumbrink, Memphis, TN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his wife, Christine Dorten, and one son, Cecil Lee Dorten.
Visitation will be held Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers,memorial gifts may be given to the Carrollton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
