Chester Calvert

Chester Lee Calvert, 85, of Bedford, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Signature Health Care in Bedford, Kentucky.

He was born in Trimble County, KY., on October 23, 1926 the son of the late Lawrence and Clara Spillman Calvert. He was a farmer and had worked at the Big Burley and Growers Tobacco Warehouses for many years. He had served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Message Center Clerk. He was a member of the American Legion Post #9 in Madison, IN., and the Henry County Masonic Lodge #249 F & AM in Campbellsburg, KY.

He will be missed by his wife, Elfrieda Thompson Calvert of Bedford, KY., his daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Calvert of Bedford, KY., his half-brother, Roy Calvert of Carrollton, KY., two grandchildren, James Travis Calvert and Tyler Crafton Calvert, both of Bedford, KY., and one great grandson also survives, Grant Lee Calvert of Bedford, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James Lee Calvert on March 30, 2003.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Masonic Homes of Kentucky.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
