Christeen Jones

Christeen Elizabeth Ellis Jones, 100, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Signature Healthcare of Carrollton.  She was born on September 12, 1922, in Worthville, Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Ellis and Sallie Elizabeth Cook Ellis.  Christeen had retired from the Kroger Grocery Store in Carrollton on January 31, 1991, as the front supervisor, after 40 years with the company.  She was a member of the Whites Run Baptist Church, had served as secretary of the W.M.U.

Christeen is survived by a daughter; Rita J. (Tim) Clark of Carrollton, KY, three grandchildren; Mia Pruitt of Erlanger, KY, Mark W. Pruitt of Elsmere, KY, and Jay Wheeler of Cathedral City, CA, three great grandchildren; Justine Green Goodby of San Antonio, TX, Christian Pruitt and Kaitlyn Pruitt, both of Elsmere, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; William Woodrow Jones on September 12, 1992, her daughter; Pamela Lee Jones Pruitt in July of 2011, two sisters; Ethel B. Gayle and Betty Jean Ellis Deister, five brothers; Robert G. Ellis, Stanley Ellis, James Howard Ellis, Richard Lee Ellis and Grover Cleveland Ellis, Jr., and a granddaughter; Julie Lee Wheeler.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
