Clara B. Hughes, 84, of Carrollton, KY., died on Friday morning, June 13, 2008 at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton, KY.

She was born in Carroll County, KY., on January 13, 1924 the daughter of the late James and Anna (Leach) Bell. Clara was a retired dietician for the Carroll County School System in Carrollton, KY. She was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church in Ghent, KY., and the Rebecca Lodge #60 in Carrollton, KY.

Survivors include two daughters; Linda Cole of Turners Station, KY., and Sandy Tomlinson of Carrollton, KY., a son; Terry Hughes of Carrollton, KY., eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Joseph Hartman Hughes, a son; Jackie Hughes, four sisters; Audrey Adams, Edith Williams, Beulah Combs & Louise Bell , three brothers; Roy, Clint & James Bell along with two grandchildren; Stuart Rodney Hughes and Crystal Dawn Tomlinson.

Funeral Services were on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy Stewart, Rev. Dennis Norton and Rev. Jason Owenby officiating the service. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Paul Hughes, Kenny Dale Hughes, Daniel Embry, Dave Roberts, Mike Stewart and Billy Wainscott. Honorary Pallbearers were Joe Gemmer, Nick Isaacs and Rob Green.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

5:00 - 8:00 P.M. - Tuesday - June 17, 2008 at the funeral home.

Funeral

11:00 A.M. - Wednesday - June 18, 2008 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Interment

Ghent Masonic Cemetery - Ghent, KY.
