Daisy Hughes

Daisy Elizabeth Hughes, 63, of Carrollton, KY., died on October 17, 2012 at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Daisy was born on December 19, 2012 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY., to Charles William and Rita Mary Piggott Young. She was a retired Hairdresser and owner of Hair Studio in Carrollton, KY. She was a 1967 graduate of Carroll County High School and a 1982 graduate of School of Hair Design in Florence, KY. Daisy was an avid antique collector and member of Beta Sigma Phi. She also was a member of the Carroll County Tobacco Festival Committee of which she served as treasurer for many years.

She is survived by her husband - Gregg D. Hughes, a son - Damon W. Lewis of Ghent, KY, step-daughters - Heather Hughes of Georgetown, KY and Megan Wilson of Morristown, TN, sisters - Juanita R. Baxter of Maysville, KY and Glenna Young Thacker of Covington, GA, brother - Alec C. Young of Carrollton, KY Four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother - Paul W. Young.

The Rev. Hardin Lowe officiated funeral services on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Memorial gifts may be made to the Carroll County Tobacco Festival Committee in care of the funeral home.
