David Hugh "Tweety" Hicks

  David Hugh “Tweety” Hicks, 66, of Milton, Carroll County, KY, died on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in Louisville, KY.

 

  He was born September 7, 1956, at home in Carrollton the son of the late Charles Hicks, Sr. and Mary Ellen Ferris Hicks.  On October 6, 1976, he married Nancy Marie Mahoney at the Bedford Baptist Church in Bedford, KY.  They would have celebrated 47 years of marriage this year.  In 1994 he began a career with I.K.T. Trucking Company as a truck driver.

 

  Some of his favorite things to do included playing cornhole, watching NASCAR, attending dirt track racing events at the Florence Speedway and he even owned a stockcar at one time.  He loved Friday’s because it meant it was time to listen to music and have friends over to play music and enjoy a cold beverage.

 

  He will be missed by his wife; Nancy Marie Mahoney Hicks of Milton, KY, his son; David Lee Hicks of Carrollton, KY, two daughters; Angela Marie Clark of Carrollton, KY, and Cathy Jo Hicks-Carter of Georgetown, IN, and two grandchildren; Casey Jo Clark and Madison Ann Marie Carter.

 

  David was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Billy, Bobby, Jr and Roy Lee Hicks, and a sister; Christine Garrett.

 

  A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.  Per his wishes he chose to be cremated.

 

  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
