Dennis Edward Howard, Sr., 67, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Erlanger, Kentucky, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on September 22, 1956, in Covington, Kentucky, to Glenn Howard and Thelma Dorsey Roberts.
Dennis was a dedicated bus mechanic for Tank, having worked at Dayton Walter for over thirty years before his passing. His and expertise in his career were evident to all who knew him. Additionally, Dennis proudly served his country and received the National Defense Service Medal while in the United Navy from 1974 to 1978.
Known for being very family-oriented, Dennis cherished spending time with his loved ones. He adored his wife, Brenda Gail Howard, with whom he enjoyed hiking at the Gorge. He also had a passion for watching football, especially cheering on his favorite team, the Cincinnati Bengals. In his leisure time, Dennis found joy in playing card games like Rook and Euchre, as well as engaging in activities like cornhole, horseshoes, and tinkering in the garage.
He was a member of the English Christian Church in Carrollton.
Dennis will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his children: DJ (Erica) Howard of Glencoe, Kentucky, and Tara (Corey) Harsin of Carrollton, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Austin & Taylor Harsin and Dexter, Cece, and Zoey Howard; his sister, Glenda Cantwell of Erlanger, Kentucky; his brothers: Bill Howard (Melissa) and David Howard, both of Erlanger, Kentucky, and Barry Roberts of Sharonville, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Becky Roberts of Erlanger, Kentucky; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenn Howard and Thelma Roberts Dorsey, Dennis was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Gail Howard, and his brother, Dwight Roberts.
Funeral Services to honor and remember Dennis's life will be held at the English Christian Church in Carrollton, Kentucky, on Saturday, August 10, 2024. A visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in the Warsaw Cemetery in Warsaw, KY.
Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Bengals attire to his visitation and funeral in honor of him.
Dennis will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
