Dodie Ogburn

Dodie "Cush" Ogburn, 91, died on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born on July 27, 1920 in Switzerland County, IN., the daughter of the late Thad and Anna Smith Wheeler. She was a retired bank teller from the First National Bank in Carrollton. She was a former Carroll County Deputy Sheriff and a Census Taker.

She was a member of the Ghent Baptist Church, the Ghent Women's Club and the Carroll County Hospital Auxiliary Board. In her spare time she was an avid Bridge Card Player.

She will be missed by her daughter, Sandra (Gene) Berry of Port Royal, KY., three sons, Gary (Peggy) Ogburn of Ghent, KY., Pat (Karen) Ogburn of Crystal River, FL., and Randy ( Karen) Ogburn of Northfield, NJ., fourteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Tandy Ogburn, a infant son, James Tandy Ogburn, a sister, Dona "Punk" Harmon and a brother, Howard Wheeler.

Funeral Services were on Saturday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

Pallbearers were Jeremy, Colton, and Josh Ogburn, Bryan Boyer, Dylan and Derick Ouellette. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel and Michael Ogburn, David Remnex and Mike Berry.
