Donald Eckler

Donald W. "Don" Eckler, 95, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born February 14, 1916 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio the son of the late Dr. Clyde and Addie Gruelle Eckler. Mr. Eckler was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was retired from the Carroll County Health Department. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. having obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. His memberships include the Ghent Baptist Church and Carrollton American Legion Post #41.

He will be missed by his son Tom Eckler of Florence, KY., a daughter, Sandra Jean Ellis of Ypsilanti, MI., eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leoma M. "Sallee" Eckler, a son, Ronald Paul Eckler and two brothers, Gerald and Ralph Eckler.

Funeral Service were on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Ghent Baptist Church with the Rev. Graham Reynolds officiating the service. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to the Ghent Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. - Sunday - November 6, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. on Monday at the Ghent Baptist Church.

Hillcrest Cemetery - Dry Ridge, KY.
