Donald Lewellyn

Donald "Don" Lewellyn, 73, of Carrollton, KY., died on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, KY.

He was born on December 25, 1939 in Carroll County, KY., the son of the late Eldie Lewellyn and Christine Moscoe Lewellyn. He was a retired owner of the former Blossom Shop in Carrollton. He most recently had worked for Advanced Auto Parts in Carrollton in the delivery department.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He entered active duty on the 28th of December 1956 and was honorably discharged on the 16th December 1960.

He will be missed by his wife of 52 years, June Davis Lewellyn of Carrollton, KY, his son, Elmer Lewellyn of Carrollton, KY, his adopted son, Kevin R. Lewellyn, Jr., of Carrollton, KY., His sisters, Ann Ballard of Carrollton, KY, Kathy Stevens of Ghent, KY, Alice Bethel of Carrollton, KY, and Sue Carol Kidwell of Campbellsburg, KY, along with four step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kevin R. Lewellyn, Sr., three brothers, Eldie Jay Lewellyn, William Harold Lewellyn and Charles Harrell and one sister also preceded him, Betty J. Wallace.

Funeral Services were on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Stephens officiating the service. Burial was in the in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Military Honors were presented the Carrollton American Legion Post #41 at the Graveside.

Pallbearers were Melvin Stewart, Don Nanny, Jimmy and Jerry Supplee, Charlie Willhoite and Malcolm Carraco.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Society Carroll County Unit in care of the funeral home.
