Donald Kenneth Mills, Jr., born on July 19, 1967, in Washington, entered into eternal rest on February 15, 2025, in Bedford, Kentucky. He faced the end of his journey with remarkable courage while battling cancer, a fight he approached with resilience and grace.
Donald had a diverse and fulfilling career, spending many years working for Winston Industries. His skills extended beyond his professional life; he was known as a jack of all trades, proficient in building things, cooking, and gardening. He found joy in activities that allowed him to create and contribute, embodying a spirit of lifelong learning and exploration.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Donald’s vibrant personality made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He was a man who loved to uplift others and see people smile; he never met a stranger. This warmth endeared him to many and forged countless friendships throughout his life.
Donald was also a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene Pyles Mills, and their son, Jacob Schaser, his companion, Kayla Warrix. Donald cherished his role as a brother to Julie (Jeff) Humbert and Shelly Mills, as well as his relationship with his brothers, Thomas (Melanie) Tritt. His legacy will also live on through his granddaughter, Lyla Schaser, who brought immense joy to his life.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Kenneth Mills and Glenna Sutton Mills, and by his brother, Tommy Mills. Their memories will be treasured by those who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, Kentucky, 41008. Burial with will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
In celebrating Donald’s life, we remember a man who made a difference in the lives of many, leaving behind laughter, love, and an inspiring legacy of kindness. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
