Doris Burns

Doris Kimball Burns, 93, of Sanders, KY, died on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the Providence of Gallatin Health Care in Warsaw, KY.

She was born on January 29, 1921 in Bayou Current, Saint Landry County, LA, the daughter of the late Dave and Leona Kimball Savage.

She was a retired Postmaster at the Sanders, KY, Post Office after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Sanders Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Burns of Sanders, KY, a son, Dave Burns of Houston, TX, two sisters, Thelma Kimball and Gloria Kimball, both of Pineville, LA, three grandchildren, Kyle Burns of Louisville, KY, Kelsey Hostetler of Bloomington, IN, and Kirtley Hostetler of Ghent, KY and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Kirtley Burns in 2005, three sisters, Joyce Edwards, Velma & Audrey Kimball.

Funeral Services were on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Hardin Lowe conducting the service. Visitation was from 11:00 A.M.-2:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Ghent, KY.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
