Dorothy Mae Courtney Sharon

Dorothy Mae Courtney Sharon, born on February 12, 1930, in Eagle Station, Carroll County, Kentucky, left this world on Friday evening, December 13, 2024, in Carrollton, Kentucky. She was known for her hard work, resilience, and dedication to her family.

Dorothy dedicated 26 years of her professional life to the Teledyne-Wirz Factory in Carrollton, where she exemplified a strong work ethic and commitment to her craft. Throughout her life, she embodied the spirit of industriousness. In addition to her time at the factory, she embraced the roles of a housewife and farmer, diligently supporting her family. Her many talents also included a passion for hanging wallpaper, a skill she graciously offered to those in her community. Furthermore, Dorothy spent a number of fulfilling years working at the Carrollton Hardee's, where she built relationships with both coworkers and customers.

Raised in the Pentecostal faith, her spiritual beliefs guided her life, providing her comfort and strength. Dorothy's love for her family was immeasurable, and she found joy in collecting pictures that captured precious memories with them and her friends.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis Ray Sharon and Larry Dale Sharon, both of Worthville, KY, along with two cherished grandchildren and one great grandchild. They will carry on her legacy of love and hard work in their hearts.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Herbert Courtney, and Hattie Wheeler Courtney; her beloved husband, Roy Sharon; and her siblings, Bessie Lucas, Naomi Wainscott, Eunice Lee Courtney, Cecil, and Herbert E. Courtney. Their memories will forever be intertwined with hers, as they shared a lifetime of love and memories.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY. Following this, a funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. Jerry Knox officiating the service.  The burial will take place in the Dallasburg Wheatley Cemetery in Wheatley, KY.

Dorothy Mae Courtney Sharon will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
