Dorothy Halmess

Dorothy J. Halmess, 83, of Carrollton, KY, died at Carroll County Memorial Hospital Monday evening. She was born in Worthville, Carroll County, Ky to the late John Henry and Alice Thelma Brinegar Meadows. Dorothy was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Ruth Circle, Joy Club and a Sunday School teacher. She retired as bookkeeper at Parkview Supermarket.Survivors include her son - Scott Halmess of Carrollton, KY, 3 sisters - Nancy Lewellyn of Madison, IN, Mary Stangle of Carrollton, KY and Thelma "Dolly" Ray of Owingsville, KY, a granddaughter - Kimberly Kay Williamson and great grandchildren - Kayla and Dylan Williamson.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Harold "Buddy" Halmess, brothers - Paul E. Meadows, H.M. Meadows, Roy Douglass Meadows and Marvin Meadows.The Rev. Andrew Oakley and Rev. Bob Ray officiated the service on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
