Dorothty Ruth Winkle, 81, of Carrollton, KY., died on October 2, 2011 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy was born on February 13, 1930 in Trimble County, KY to Redford and Lillian McDole Chandler. She was of the Baptist faith and was a retired cook at many local restaurants, having owned and operated Dot and Jim's Truck Stop on Highway 36 near the gravel pit for many years.
Her survivors include: Three daughters; Brenda Norton of Carrollton, KY, Connie Hackney of Carrollton, KY and Kathy (Fraser) Richards of Cabot, AR, three sons; Dennie Hackney of Madison, IN, Teddy (Tammy) Hackney of Ghent, KY and Wade (Angie) Winkle of Carrollton, KY. Three sisters; Doris (Bill) Moler of Madison, IN, Judy (Tom) Jones of Milton, KY and Phyllis (Larry) Kirby of Milton, KY, three brothers; Roger (Sharon) Chandler of Madison, IN, Eugene (Janice) Chandler of Madison, IN and Bennie (Cheryl) Chandler of Madison, IN. Seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers; J.R. and Grover Chandler and two grandsons, Derrick Rose and Larry Norton.
The Rev. Graham Reynolds will officiated the services on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
Memorial Gifts may take the form of contributions to the Ghent Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
