Duel Romans

Duel Romans, 92, of Carrollton, KY., died on Monday, July 25, 2005 at the Carroll County Hospital after an illness.

He was born in Owen County, KY., the son of the late W.T. "Tom" Romans, Sr., and Katherine McGee Romans. Duel was a longtime Carrollton businessman operating Carrollton Cleaners on Sycamore St. for many years with his late wife Dorothy Hoskins Romans. Duel was a longtime member of the Carrollton Christian Church serving in many positions throughout his church membership. He was also a member of the Carrollton Masonic Lodge #134 F & AM., and the I.O.O.F. Lodge. Duel enjoyed fishing in his spare time as long as his health permitted.

Duel is survived by a loving son; John Romans of Carrollton, and one grandson; Christian Romans of Carrollton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Dorothy Hoskins Romans who died on June 23, 2002, brothers; Meurl Romans, W.T. Romans, Jr., and Wilbur Romans, one grandson; J.J. Romans.

The Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate the Memorial Service on Sunday at the church. A Masonic Service will also be conducted during the Memorial Service on Sunday at the Church. Cremation was chosen by the family.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Cremation was chosen by the family, with the ashes being buried in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton, KY.
