Eddie Ray Mertz, 55, of Carrollton, KY, died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on September 23, 1959 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the son of the late, William Ellis Mertz and Mary Ellen Sutherland Mertz. He was a graduate of
Gallatin County High School in Warsaw, KY. He was currently serving as 2nd Vice President of the Son's of the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton. He was of the baptist faith.
He is survived by four sisters, Debby Johnson of Carrollton, KY, Barbara Simpkins of Carrollton, KY, Brenda Roberts of Sanders, KY, and Verna Lee Moore of Carrollton, KY, a brother, Mark Mertz of Ghent, KY, a step-sister, Alberta Seniours of Carrollton, KY, a step-brother, Tommy Ellis of Ghent, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bobby Mertz and two step-brothers, Richard and James Ellis.
A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Eminence Cemetery in Eminence, KY.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
