Edward Westrick| Jr.

Edward "Bud" Westrick, Jr., age 83, of Carrollton, KY., died on Thursday evening, January 31, 2008 at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton.

He was born November 30, 1924 in Carrollton, KY., the son of the late Edward and Mable (Packham) Westrick. He was retired from Clean Cool in Ghent, KY. One of Bud's greatest achievements was helping build the Markland Dam. He enjoyed Fishing, Hiking, Woodworking and Baseball, he even played for the Carrollton Baseball team named the "Radios" back in the 1940's. Bud was a farmer and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton. Bud served his country during World War II. in the U.S. Army having traveled to Norway, Germany and France.

On November 6, 1948 he met his sweetheart; Clara (Taylor) Westrick at a coffee shop she worked at in carrollton, this uniting led to 59 years of a blessed marriage. Other survivors beside Bud's wife include a daughter; Rita Westrick of Carrollton, KY., and one son and his wife; Richard and Lucy Westrick of Carrollton, KY., two brothers survive; Louis Westrick of Carrollton, KY., and Stanley Westrick of Parachute, CO., along with two grandchildren; Jenine and Alex Westrick, both of Carrollton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Connie Westrick, Thelma Aldridge & Esther Morgan, and four brothers Bernard, Robert, Ronald and Charles Westrick. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Catholic Church in Carrollton, KY. Interment was in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton, KY. The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
