Elwood Warfield

Elwood Warfield, 83, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 23, 1928 in Owen County, KY., the son of the late Joe and Carrie Traylor Warfield. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for Greer and Greer Brothers Construction Company in London, KY. His memberships include the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Carrollton and the United Steel Workers Union.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Hunter Warfield of Carrollton, daughters, Trina Malone of Tennesee, Veronica Cook of Owenton, KY., Barbara Shackle of Evansville, IN., Jeana Jones of Georgetown, KY., and Clarissa Neal also of Georgetown, KY., three sons, Donnie Warfield of Owensboro, KY., Jerry and Troy Warfield both of Versailles, KY., a step-daughter, Vonda McGuire-Hicks of Carrollton, two step-sons, Larry Jones of Carrollton and Lonnie Jones of Vincennes, IN., a brother, Gene Jones of Snaders, KY., twenty seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Ralph, Walter, Bill, William and Bobby Warfield.

Funeral Services were on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with Branch President Jim Graves officiating the service. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
