Elizabeth Ann Meadows-Peelman, 91, of Carrollton, KY, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 14, 2023, with her family by her side in Carrollton, KY.
She was born in Turners Station, KY, the daughter of the late Benjamin Chilton and Hattie B. Sanders Chilton. Elizabeth had formerly worked as a housekeeper for the Carroll County Memorial Hospital and the Green Valley Nursing Home in Carrollton. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, cooking, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Elizabeth will be missed by her daughter, Diane Meadows of Carrollton, KY; a son, Carroll Meadows of Carrollton, KY; a stepdaughter, Margie Abplanalp of Patriot, IN; stepsons, Harold “Tinks” Dews of Carrollton, KY; Bobby Dews of Vevay, IN; and Ray Dews of Carrollton, KY; sisters, Judy Faller of Mansfield, OH; Jo Ann Nevils of Paoli, IN; and Mary Coburn of Louisville, KY; twenty grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, John Meadows and Bobby Dews; five sons, John Mike Meadows, Joey Lee Meadows, William Meadows, Ricky Meadows, and Raymond Meadows; a stepson, Kenneth “Runt” Dews; sisters, Margaret Butler, Martha Chafer, and Jane McCormick; brothers, Roy Chilton, Ernest Chilton, Robert Chilton, Dyke Chilton, and Tommy Chilton; and several grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
