Emma Stockdale Cossairt

Emma Jean Stockdale Cossairt, 84, of Carrollton, KY., died on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the New Horizons Assisted Living Center in Carrollton, KY.

She was born on October 13, 1923 in Trimble County, KY., the daughter of the late Stanley Franklin Stockdale and Mary Edna (Cotton) Stockdale. "Jean" as most people knew her was a Homemaker. She enjoyed reading and traveling, she also enjoyed sewing, of which she made much of her personal clothing before declining in health.

Her memberships include the Carrollton Christian Church and she was a former member of the University Heights Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN.

She is survived by her son; Jack Donald Cossairt of Aurora, IL., four sisters; Mary Frances Shaum of Carrollton, KY., Margaret A.Inderhees of Cincinnati, OH., Della Jennings of San Antonio, TX., and Louise Fitzpatrick of Carrollton, KY., two brothers; Lawrence S. Stockdale of Seymour, IN., and Delmar Stockdale of Carrollton, KY., two grandchildren; Joseph Donald Cossairt of West Mont, IL., and Sally Jean Cossairt Deal of Bristol, RI., four great grandchildren also survive.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband; Jackson Frederick Cossairt on January 1, 2005, one brother; Stanley Franklin Stockdale, Jr. in 1970.

The Funeral Service were conducted on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Brocious officiating the service. Burial was at the Springdale Cemetery in Madison, IN.

Memorial Gifts may be given to the New Horizons Senior Activity Fund.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
