Eric Long

Eric B. Long, 70, of Carrollton, KY, died on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, KY.
He was born on January 20, 1947 to the late Charles David Long and Johanne Carrington Long.
He was retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory as a Prison Guard. He had served as a Police Officer for the City of Paris, IL, for many years. He was an expert wood worker and home builder, and a great handyman. He enjoyed rebuilding black powder muskets for people that would bring them to him to work on.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He is survived by three sons, Brian A. Long of Milton, KY, Bradley C. Long of Illinois and David Long of California, two daughters, Glynis K. Long of Charleston, IL, and Terry Long of St. Louis, MO, a sister, Cynthia Black of Oakley, IL, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. The American Legion Post #9 of Madison, IN, will present Military Honors at the graveside.
