Eugene R. Moore, 75, of Edingen, Germany, died on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the Thorax Clinic in Heidelberg, Germany.
He was born on April 25, 1933 in Sparta, KY., the son of the late Ambrose and Ethel (Calvert) Moore. He was retired from the U.S. Army, having served his country from 1953-1956 and from 1962-1979, he was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran. Eugene held a church membership at the English Christian Church in Carroll County, KY.
Survivors include his wife; Elfriede "Ellen" Moore of Edingen, Germany, a step - brother; Richard Haskell Sutter and his wife Jane of Florida, three nieces; Sue Leite and JoKay Clark both of Carrollton, KY., and Christine Braner of Baiertal, Germany, six nephews; Dr. Thomas Marshall of Owenton, KY., Jimmy Marshall of Carrollton, KY., David G. Marshall of Madison, IN., Don Moore of Louisville, KY., Bruce Moore of Jeffersonville, IN. and Dwight Moore of Crestwood, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Ambrose "Buck" Moore, Jr., Sisters; Lillian Marshall, Helen Greene and Dean Adams, a niece; Joyce Greene Carver.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Bro. Bill Watson of the First Christian Church in Owenton, KY. Family and Friends may share memories at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Saturday. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Gallatin County, KY. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army from the Fort Knox Post and The Carrollton American Legion Post #41 at the Graveside.
