Evelyn Lee Day Dermon, 93, of Ghent, Carroll County, KY, died on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at her residence in Ghent, KY.
She was born on October 6, 1929, in Worthville, Carroll County, KY the daughter of the late Emmett and Mamie Skirvin Day. Evelyn was a homemaker and had worked at the former Carrollton Redryer Factory, she had worked as a salesclerk at Lerman Brothers Store in Carrollton and had worked for Floyd’s Jewelry Store in Carrollton for several years as a salesclerk.
Evelyn was a member of the Whites Run Baptist Church and had served on the W.M.U. at the church. She had been a Clogger with the Butler Cloggers and Square Danced with the Butler Generals for several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, gardening, and farming.
She is survived by her son, Clayton (Rachel) Dermon of Ghent, KY, a brother, Emmett Russell Day of Vevay, IN, and a sister, Mary C. Baker of Ghent, KY, four grandchildren, Cody Dermon, Connor Dermon, Abby Dermon and Briana Dermon, and three great grandchildren, Dominik Beard, Serenity Beard and Raigen Beard.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard E. “Jaybird” Dermon, her son, Gary Dermon, and a brother, John Day.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
