Evelyn Welch

Evelyn Marie "Tricky" Welch, 57, of Carrollton, died on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at her residence in Carrollton, KY.

"Tricky" as many people knew her was born on March 22, 1954 in Madison, Jefferson County, IN., the daughter of the late William Harold and Agnes Fitzgerald Welch.

She was currently the Historical Site Manager at the William Whitley Historical House in Stanford, KY. She had previously been the Historical Site Manager at the General Butler Mansion at the General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton.

She was the creator of the Play 'Er Agin Concert Series at the Butler-Turpin State Historic House. She was a former member of the Carrollton Main Street Program. She was a former board member of the Carrollton/ Carroll County Tourism Commmission. She was Board Member for Friends of Butler. She was a member of the Carroll County Historical Society. She was an active member in the Historical Hoosier Theater Group and she was active in numerous Local High School and Carrollton Players Theatrical Productions.

She is survived by her two sons, Beau Christian Arney of Carrollton, KY., and Ryan Pierce Arney also of Carrollton,KY., two sisters, Karen Welch of New Albany, IN., and Jennifer Welch of Carrollton, KY., a brother, John Welch also of Carrollton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Family Worship Center with the Rev. Pat Butcher officiating the service.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to the Friends of Butler or the Port William Historical Society in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
