Faye Mudd Hill, 84, passed away peacefully to her heavenly father on July 8, 2011 at her home surrounded by family.
Faye was born August 4, 1926. She spent her childhood in New Haven, KY until graduating from St. Catherine High School in 1944. She went on to receive her nursing diploma from the Nazareth School of Nursing in 1948. She married Ralph Henry Hill on September 20, 1948 and moved to Carrollton, Ky. She spent her early years as a wife, mother and homemaker and eventually went back to nursing in 1974. She worked at Carroll Co. Memorial Hospital for 17 years as a RN and night supervisor. She retired in 1991.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Henry Hill; parents, Estelle Howard Mudd and Dr. Edward D. Mudd; sisters, James Edward Hilda Mudd OSU, Shirley Glaser, Inez Glauber, Catherine Dawson, Juanita Jasper, Estelle Freibert, Jeanne Miller and her brother Dr. Richard Mudd.
She is survived by her three children, Karen Fitzner, Louisville, KY; Tammy Hill - Fast (Paul), Lexington, KY; Paul Hill, Denver CO; three grandchildren, Jason Sawyer, Collin Hill and Cameron Hill; a brother, Dr. Joseph Mudd of Clarksville, IN; numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful companions, Boots and BK.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice of the Bluegrass for their care, compassion and friendship shown to Faye and her family over the past months.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 507 5th St. Carrollton, KY with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. Carrollton, Ky.
In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Cancer Society.
