Frances Cook

April 3, 1922 — May 15, 2011

Frances Harrell Cook, 89, of Goshen, KY, formerly of Ghent and Carrollton, KY, died peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at The Episcopal Church Home, Louisville.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and civic volunteer. She was a faithful member of Ghent Baptist Church, the Ghent Woman 's Club, Port William Historical Society, Women's Missionary Union and her Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Caby M. Froman Club and a founding member of her Bridge Club in 1945.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, James Erway Cook; her son, William Erway Cook; her mother and father, Louise and Martin Samuel Harrell; as well as her five brothers and sisters, Ruby, Lillian, Geneva, Edward and Florian.

She is survived by her daughter, Ellen van Nagell (Hendrik), of Goshen and her son George Tandy Cook III (Olivia), of Arizona; two grandchildren, George Tandy Cook IV (Miriam), of Arizona and Christian Lee Cook, (Roxanne), of Kansas; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Caleb, Hannah and Faith; and six nieces and nephews, Eva Jo Hill, June Oney, Janice Smith, Martin Harrell, William Harrell and Louise Mooney.

Funeral services will be held at the Ghent Baptist Church, 201 Ferry St., Ghent, KY, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with burial in the Ghent Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, KY. The family wishes to thank Dr. Greg Ciliberti for 30 years of excellent care and devotion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ghent Baptist Church or to The Episcopal Church Home- Employee Christmas Fund.

Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.

Ghent Masonic Cemetery - Ghent, KY.
