Frances Aleen Hartman, 91, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday evening, February 13, 2015 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, KY.
She was born on April 8, 1923 in Carrollton, Carroll County, KY, the daughter of the late Erven A. Stamler and Emma Bromwell Stamler. She was a graduate of the Carrollton High School and on December 3, 1942 she married William Hershal Hartman. Frances inherited the "clean" trait from her mother and everyday of her life was consumed with cleaning, and cooking . She was selfless, unselfish and had a sacrificial love for her children. She was a member of the English Christian Church.
Mrs. Hartman also worked outside the home, she retired from the former Kawneer Factory as a product inspector and she also had worked at the former Charlestown Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN, as a product inspector. After her retirement, she remained at home as a homemaker, making sure all the Dailey chores got done.
She will be missed by her two sons, Barry (Brenda) Hartman of Walton, KY, Michael (Sue) Hartman of Carrollton, KY, five daughters, Sandra (Hootie) Hartman Layton of Milton, KY, Mary (Dwight) Hartman Louden of Carrollton, KY, Linda Carol Hartman of Carrollton, KY, Barbara (Bob) Hartman McLane of Alexandria, KY, and Debra (Dennis) Hartman Harsin of Milton, KY, a sister, Doris Stamler Leep of New Albany, IN, nine grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and seven great - great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William H. Hartman on March 27, 1996, her son, William Hershal Hartmen, Jr. on May 17, 1986, three sisters, Margaret Harmon, Erma McCollum and Emma Joe Stamler. a great-great grandchild, Keeley Faith Harsin.
Funeral Services were on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the with the Rev. Keith Miller officiating the service. Visitation was on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the English Christian Church. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, KY.
