Frances Ellen Conley Ogden, 99, of Fort Mitchell, KY, formerly of Carrollton, KY, died on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Emeritus of Edgewood in Edgewood, KY.
She was born on September 24, 1915 in Johnson County, KY, the daughter of the late Frank Conley and Clara Mollette Conley. She was an Elementary School Teacher having received her degree at Western Kentucky Teacher's College. She started her career in Eastern Kentucky in one room school houses and later retired from the Carroll County School System as a Elementary School Teacher.
She was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Eastern Star, Ruth Circle at the Carrollton United Methodist Church, the Carrollton Woman's Club and the Carrollton Homemakers.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (John) Smith of Fort Mitchell, KY, her step son, Emmett Lee (Vicki) Ogden, Jr. of Louisville, KY, grandsons - Ben Smith, Andy (Sara) Smith and Mark Smith, all of Lexington, KY, a great grandchild, Luna Smith of Lexington, KY, a step-grandchild, Emmett Lee (Lauren) Ogden III., of Louisville, KY, a step-great grandchild, Ensley Ogden of Louisville, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Emmett Lee Ogden on July 24, 2004, three sisters, Pibi Stewart, Ruby Harris and Jo Anne Swisher.
Funeral Services were on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Andrew Oakley officiating the service at the Carrollton United Methodist Church. Visitation were from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
Memorial Gifts:
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carrollton United Methodist Church or the Carroll County Public Library in care of the funeral home.
Visitation was from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church.
