Fred Spillman
July 3, 1914 — January 28, 2006
Fred Joseph Spillman, 91, of Carrollton, KY., died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born in Carroll County, KY., the son of the late Prentice Obert Spillman and Sallie Jane Ballard Spillman. He was a former Co-Owner of East End Lumber and Supply Company in Carrollton. He also was a retired Building Contractor working in the local area. Fred was raised as a Baptist, he served his country during W.W. II in the U.S. Army during the D-Day Invasion. Other Memberships include the American Legion Post #41 in Carrollton and the Kiwanis when they were active in Carroll County.
Survivors include his wife of over 60 years; Louise Meadows Spillman, a daughter; Ellen Jane Spillman Wood of Sadieville, KY., and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Susan Diane Spillman, sisters; Esther Lindsay, Noma Chapman and Evelyn Dixie Wade, brothers; Snowdie, Casper and Barney Spillman.
The Rev. Amanda Hines will conduct the funeral on tuesday at the funeral home.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
