George Conway

George Conway, 86, of Carrollton, KY., died on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Baptist Northeast Hospital in LaGrange, KY.

He was born on January 4, 1926 in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky, the son of the late Richard Conway and Yula Smith. He retired as a sales person from what was formerly known as Federal Chemical Co. in Louisville, KY.

He was a member of the Carrollton Christian Church. In the past he served as an Elder at the church and as President of the Board at the church as well. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #41- Carrollton, KY and the UK Alumni Association. He was a member of Phi Tau Fraternity at the University of Kentucky.

He will be missed by his wife, Joyce Lorch Conway, Carrollton, KY., one son, Mike Conway, Park Hills, KY, and by one daughter, Glenda Ayler, Carrollton, KY. Three grandchildren also survive, Brittany Conway Kaiser, Aaron Conway, and Jamie Ayler Hall.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, a brother, Joe Conway and a sister, Jane Stout.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Carrollton Christian Church from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carrollton Christian Church with Rev. Melvin LeCompte officiating the service, burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Kentucky with the American Legion Honor Guard, Post 9, Madison, IN doing the military service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gift may be given to the Carrollton Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
