George Willis

George Washington Willis, 75, of Carrollton, KY., died on Sunday evening, September 6, 2009 at his residence in Carrollton, KY.

He was born in Henry County, KY., on February 22, 1934 the son of the late James Martin and Beulah Chilton Willis.

He was a retired lift driver for Creasy Wholesale Grocery Company in Louisville, KY.

George was a member of Crossroads Church in Bedford, KY.

Survivors include his wife; Mary Evelyn Smith Willis of Carrollton, KY., four daughters; Rhonda Reynolds of Bowling Green, KY., Betty Willis of Milton, KY., Karen Easton and Sandy Stump both of Carrollton, KY., two sons; Larry Willis of Ghent, KY., and Kevin Willis of Milton, KY., a sister; Mattie Lee Banta of Clarksville, IN., two brothers; Joe Tom Willis of Louisville, KY., and John William Willis of Carrollton, KY., sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son; Richard Lee Willis, a sister; Corrine Willis and three brothers; Ernest, James and Frank Willis.

The Rev. Larry Franklin officiated the funeral service on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home. Burial was in the English Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chad Easton, Michael Reynolds, Jason Willis, Derrick Willis, Ricky Wright, Kevin Willis, Brian Willis and Travis Willis.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
