Gerharda Kooi-Vanhaelen
February 5, 1928 — July 12, 2005
Gerarda J. Kooi, 77, of Carrollton, KY., died at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday at the Green Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carrollton.
She was born in Hoek (ZLD), The Netherlands, the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Vanhaelen and Christine Ackers. Gerarda was a homemaker and a member of the United Presbyterian Church, she attended United Methodist Church of Carrollton.
Survivors include her husband; J. Peter E. Kooi of Carrollton, daughters; Margaret A. Boyle of Marquette, MI., and Christine J. Kooi, PhD of Baton Rouge, LA., sons; Reinder J. Kooi of Hope, NJ., and Jean B. Kooi of Union City, NJ.,two brothers living in Holland, one in Canada, three sisters living in Holland, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
The family request that Memorial Gifts be given to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the Memorial Service or the funeral home.
After the Service refreshments will be offered in the Fellowship Hall and there will be an opportunity to meet with the family.
The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
