Gilbert Hewitt

Gilbert Lee Hewitt, 46, of Sanders, KY., died on Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, KY.

He was born in Carrollton, Carroll County, Ky, on September 10, 1960, the son of Michael and Emily Joyce Tuttle Hewitt. He was a Union Carpenter and a Farmer. Gilbert was a 1978 Graduate of Carroll County High School where he was active in the F.F.A. and was a member of the Carpenter's Union of Louisville, KY.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Gene Hewitt of Carrollton, KY, a son, Eric Lee Hewitt of Sanders, KY, and his mother, Emily Joyce Tuttle Hewitt of Sanders, KY. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Hewitt and a brother, Gregory Lane Hewitt.

The Rev. Joe Kindoll and Bro. Carroll "Bimp" McAlister officiated the service on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial followed the service at the Hewitt family farm cemetery in Sanders, KY

Memorial gifts were given to the Hospice of the Bluegrass in care of the funeral home.

Pallbearers were David Ogburn, Michael Droppelman, Forest Cauley, Larry Taulbee, Blane Day, Ronnie Carmack, Bobby Robbins and George Lucas.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Uncle Pete Hewitt, Uncle Jimmy Tuttle, Uncle Billy Tuttle, Uncle Glen Tuttle, Wesley Tuttle, Andy Tuttle, Chris Tuttle, Charles Tuttle, Eddie Hewitt, Michael Hewitt, Heath Hewitt, Reese Hughs, Gary Dermon, Greg Day, Bobby Miller, Cash Carmack, Wesley Ogburn, Roger Ogburn, Lloyd Jackson, Terry Jackson and Gary Taulbee.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
