Granvil Smith, 82, of Carrollton, KY, died on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Signature Health Care Center in Bedford, KY.
He was born February 23, 1931 in Wayland, KY, the son of the late Russell and Ida Smith. He was a retired Production Supervisor from the Dow Corning Chemical Plant in Carrollton, KY. He served his country in the United States Navy and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Trish Smith of Baltimore, MD, four sons, Steve and Dave Smith of Carrollton, KY, Brad Smith of Mayfield, KY, and Toby Smith of Richmond, KY, three sisters, Margie Long of Mount Vernon , IL, Opal Hill of Lima, OH, and Johnny Moore of Chicago, IL, two brothers, Lee Smith of Pueblo, CO, and Grant Smith of Milton, KY, fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Pearl Hill and Dovie Music and two brothers, Jim Smith and Tommy Smith.
A Gathering of Family and Friends was from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
Cremation has been chosen by the family.
