Helen Frances Courtney, 88, of Carrollton, KY, died on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Signature Health Care of Carrollton, KY.
She was born on October 19, 1927 in New Albany, Floyd County, IN, the daughter of the late Cleophas Ehalt and Rosalie Recktenwald Ehalt. She retired in 2003 from the Carroll County Memorial Hospital as a Surgical Supply Technician.
She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church where she was active in the Church Choir, CCD Teacher, Lector and Extraordinary Minister of Eucharist at the St. John Catholic Church. She was formerly active with the Carroll County Homemakers and a former member of the Carrollton Moose Lodge.
She was an avid University of Kentucky fan and a supporter of the Carroll County High School Boosters.
She is survived by two daughters, Rosada (Tom) Harr of Carrollton, KY; and Rebecca (Ralph) Brislin of Ft. Wright, KY; three sons, Michael Courtney of Sparta, KY; Lenny (Tina) Courtney and James (Traci) Courtney, both of Carrollton, KY; a sister; Mary Jane (Bob) Wilson of Carrollton, KY; fourteen grandchildren, Chris (Stacey) Harr, Michelle Harr (Tim) Brinker, Jennifer Courtney (Darrell) Douglas, Jamie Courtney, Megan Harr, Matthew (Natalie) Brislin, Adam (Robyn) Brislin, Lara Brislin (Pierre) Hourquebie, Sarah Courtney (Michael) Maines, Aaron (Emily) Courtney, Austin Courtney, Taylor Courtney, Jacob Meadows and Kayla Meadows, and fourteen great grandchildren, Alyssa Harr, Sierra Harr, Bryce Harr, Makayla Gray, Christian Courtney, Brandon Courtney, Parker Brislin, Preston Brislin, Elizabeth Frances Brislin, Cooper Maines, Courtney Maines, Bentley Brinker, Hayden Kathleen Brinker and Malik Douglas also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Nicholas Harr.
Evening Prayers will be at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the St. John Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given for MASSES at the St. John Catholic Church or the Donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted with the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home.
Visitation
Visitation will be on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the St. John Catholic Church.
Funeral
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Jacob Straub officiating the Mass.
Interment
St. John Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton.
