Helen Ford

Helen Esther House Ford, 89, of Carrollton, KY., died on Saturday morning, July 24, 2010 at the Cottages of Carrollton, formerly Beehive Homes of Carrollton.

She was born on May 22, 1921 in Carroll County, KY., the daughter of the late Kirby Franklin and Cora Anna (Scudder) House. She was retired from the General Butler State Park having worked in the gift shop for twelve years. After Helen retired from the state park she became a Hostess for many years at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home becoming a familiar face to many in the community.

Her memberships include the Carrollton Christian Church, the English Homemakers Club, the Carrollton Woman's Club, the Carrollton Democratic Woman's Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son; Gary Lee Ford of Carrollton, a daughter; Marsha Dee Konkle of Madison, IN., a granddaughter; Brandy Kyle Douglas of Madison, IN., and three great grandchildren; Shelby E. and Shalee E. Owen also of Madison, IN., and Lindsay Douglas also of Madison, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Stanley Lindsay Ford on July 3, 1997.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Dr. Bob Brocious officiating the service. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to the Carrollton Christian Church in care of the funeral home.

The Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
