Honorable Judge Stanley Billingsley

Honorable Judge Stanley Marion “Stan” Billingsley, 79, of Carrollton, KY, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Gallatin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, KY.

He was born March 22, 1943, in Casper, Natrona County, WY, the son of the late Louis Billingsley and Christine Stafford Billingsley.  Stanley served his Country honorably in the Army National Guard and active service duty with the United States Army.  He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University earning a bachelor’s degree in history and the University of Kentucky earning a Juris Doctorate Degree.  Stan had previously worked for Berry and Floyd Law Office and had owned his own Law Firm.  He had served as an elected District Judge for Carroll, Grant and Owen County for several terms.

Stan was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church. He had written several books over the years and had them published and created his own law website to assist people with legal questions.  In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, listening to talk radio and a good political debate.  Stan was obsessed with collecting all types of hats over his lifetime.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Milbern Billingsley, a son, Brad Billingsley of Lexington, KY, a daughter, Brittany Walls of Carrollton, KY, a stepson, Doug Milbern of Cincinnati, OH, a brother, Wayne Billingsley of Brighton, MD, seven grandchildren, Emilee Bess, Ashten Walls, Addison Polley, Xavier Billingsley, Alexandria Billingsley, Tali Billingsley, and Kayla Billingsley and three great grandchildren, Sidney, Bexley and Finley Bess.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mary Ann, Caroline and Evian, and a brother, Roger Billingsley.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Devin Olachea officiating the service.  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Tandy-Eckler Riley Funeral Home.  Burial will take place in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton.  Military Honors will be presented at the graveside by the Carrollton American Legion Post #41.
