Jackey Glenn Riddle, a beloved member of the community, passed away on August 27, 2023, in Sanders, Kentucky. He was born on November 14th, 1940, in Owen County, Kentucky. Jackey will be remembered for his contributions to the workforce and his passion for farming.
He dedicated several years of his life to working at the Dayton Walther/Arvin Meritor Factory in Carrollton. He was a valued member of the Maintenance Department and left a lasting impact on his colleagues. After the closing of the factory, Jackey transitioned to the Security Department at North American Stainless in Ghent, KY.
In addition to his career accomplishments, Jackey had a deep love for farming and raising tobacco. He found great joy in tending to crops and the rewarding labor that came with it. Jackey's connection to the land was evident in everything he did, and his agricultural pursuits brought him peace and fulfillment.
Outside of work and farming, Jackey had a variety of hobbies and interests that enriched his life. He enjoyed attending Truck Pulls, where he marveled at the power and strength of those machines. Hunting allowed him to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty. Fixing things brought out his resourcefulness and knack for problem-solving. And when it came to dancing, Jackey's feet couldn't resist the allure of Square Dancing.
He was an alum of Owen County High School, where he received an education that would serve as a foundation for his future endeavors. The knowledge he gained during those years helped shape him into the hardworking individual he became.
Jackey Glenn Riddle is survived by his loving wife Phyllis Faye Crawford Riddle of Sanders, KY. Together they created a lifetime of cherished memories filled with love and support. His son Rodney Riddle of Owen County, KY, and his daughter Phyllis "Sugar" Williams of Sanders, KY will hold their father's memory close to their hearts. Jackey's sisters, Sandra Walker of Sanders, KY, Fadana Bramblett of Owenton, KY, Pat Miller of Owenton, KY, and Charlotte Gibson of Owenton, KY will fondly remember their brother. His brothers Billy Riddle of Owenton, KY, and Larry Riddle of Louisville, KY will forever treasure the bond they shared. Jackey was also a devoted grandfather to Maude Williams Clifton, Aaron Williams, C.J. Williams, and Steven Tyler Riddle. His four great-grandchildren will carry on his legacy with pride.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Riddle and Ann Coleman Riddle. He also joins his three brothers Bobby, Lawrence, and Jerry Riddle in eternal rest.
To honor the life and memory of Jackey Glenn Riddle, a visitation will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home at 809 Highland Ave in Carrollton, Kentucky. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the funeral home with the Rev. Cody Brown officiating the service.
